gap cords and more

Last week I scored two almost brand new Gap brown corduroy flared pants at my local thrift store. I was saving the tags, but misplaced them. Couldn't have been more that $12 a pair. I also got an amazing Bisou Bisou velvet dress that is perfect with a pair of pants I've had for several years of exactly the same material. An outfit made in heaven. Feels like pjs, looks like eveningwear. That's how I like to go to work in the winter.
Today was the first day of the season that I wore the fur coat I bought 2 years ago for a whopping $85. I remember torturing myself about the purchase before actually going for it. And I haven't regretted it a moment. PETA be blessed. When it's cold outside I want fur, even though I would never buy one new. I feel I am honoring the poor animal souls who died for the coat, by rescuing it from a thrift store.
I think I'm up to 3 mouton coats rescued from street and store. Not a one of them more than $10. My favorite is ripped in spots, and I've turned it inside out so the leather is on the outside. Love that coat.
Will post pics soon, I promise.
For now, be inspired by my tales. And get thee to a thrift store. Maybe I should do thrift store excusions? What a blast that would be!

it's not just clothes!

today I scored two old leather and wood chairs for $7.99 each. that's right. they were marked 14.99 and we on sale for 50% off. they're both stuffed with horse hair. one's a bit more arts & crafts era, the other is a bit more classical. can't decide whether to enjoy them in the house or resell them at the carousel. it was an exciting find. i left behind a beautiful black persian lamb coat that was just 50 bucks but it was really badly torn. and i've got too many coats already!

Adventures in Thrift

Someone at work told me they'd never seen me in the same outfit twice, and while that's a bit of an exaggeration, I do have a lot of clothes. Most of which have cost less than $20 a piece. That's my angle. Lots of clothes at a price I can brag about.
